A new storm is gathering over the Pokémon TCG.
Mega Evolution—Delta Reign is the next major expansion in the Mega Evolution Series, arriving on 6 November 2026, with Mega Rayquaza ex taking centre stage.
With new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, more than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations, and a set built around some seriously popular Pokémon, Delta Reign is shaping up to be one of the releases collectors will want to watch closely.
Last updated: 2 October 2026.
When Does Pokémon TCG: Delta Reign Release?
Official release date: 6 November 2026
Collectors will get their first opportunity to play with the expansion slightly earlier, with Delta Reign Prerelease events beginning from 24 October 2026 at participating Play! Pokémon stores.
For collectors in Liverpool and across the UK, late October is when Delta Reign will start appearing properly on the radar before the full November launch.
Mega Rayquaza ex Leads Delta Reign
The headline Pokémon for Delta Reign is difficult to ignore.
Mega Rayquaza ex leads the expansion, bringing one of the Pokémon TCG's most recognisable Legendary Pokémon back into the spotlight.
It isn't alone either. Pokémon has confirmed several more Mega Evolution Pokémon ex for the expansion, including:
- Mega Golurk ex
- Mega Malamar ex
- Mega Golisopod ex
With more reveals still possible before launch, the final chase-card lineup is one of the biggest things we'll be watching.
How Big Is Delta Reign?
The expansion contains more than 135 cards.
Pokémon has also confirmed:
- More new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- More than 20 Trainer cards
- More than 35 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations
That last number is particularly interesting for collectors. Modern Pokémon sets are increasingly driven by premium artwork, and more than 35 specially illustrated Pokémon and Trainer cards should give Delta Reign plenty to chase beyond the headline Mega Pokémon.
Cards Already Revealed
Several English cards from the expansion have already been shown, giving collectors an early look at the direction of the set.
Heat Rotom ex
Heat Rotom ex is among the early cards revealed for Delta Reign, bringing another Pokémon ex into the Fire-type lineup.
Groudon
Groudon is also part of the early Delta Reign reveals. For collectors who prioritise artwork as much as playability, it is another card worth keeping an eye on as more of the set becomes public.
Kommo-o
Kommo-o is receiving attention through the prerelease lineup, with its Beat Scales Ability helping attach Energy to Dragon-type Pokémon.
Delibird
Delibird is another Pokémon appearing in the early English reveals, adding more variety beyond the headline Mega Evolution cards.
Zinnia's Trust
Zinnia also returns through the new Zinnia's Trust Supporter card. Trainer cards with character-focused artwork have become an important part of modern Pokémon collecting, so its higher-rarity treatments will be worth watching as the set is revealed.
Delta Reign Prerelease
Prerelease events begin from 24 October 2026, around two weeks before the official launch.
The Delta Reign Build & Battle Box contains:
- 4 Mega Evolution—Delta Reign booster packs
- A ready-to-play 40-card deck
- 1 of 4 unique foil promo cards
The four promotional Pokémon are Masquerain, Magmortar, Enamorus and Kommo-o.
Prerelease is therefore the first opportunity for many players and collectors to start opening Delta Reign before the main product range arrives in November.
Is Delta Reign Worth Watching for Collectors?
There is still a lot we haven't seen. The complete high-rarity lineup has not yet been revealed, and that will ultimately determine which cards become the major collector targets.
But the ingredients are already strong: Mega Rayquaza is one of the franchise's most recognisable Legendary Pokémon, several additional Mega Evolutions are confirmed, and more than 35 specially illustrated cards leave considerable room for standout artwork.
For sealed collectors, Delta Reign also arrives heading into the end-of-year period, making the product lineup particularly interesting to follow.
What Happens Next?
More cards and products should continue to be revealed as we approach 6 November 2026.
RareTCG will be following Delta Reign closely as the full card list, chase cards and UK product availability become clearer.
