Back to Collector Journal

Could Mega Lucario Z ex be the headline card of Pokémon's first major English TCG set of 2027? A new report names the next expansion Flowing Fists, with a proposed UK release on Friday 5 February 2027. There is plenty for collectors to discuss, but one distinction matters before making buying plans: the Flowing Fists name and its release dates are reported, not yet officially confirmed by The Pokémon Company.

At RareTCG, we have separated the confirmed Pokémon announcements from the latest reporting so you can follow the release without confusing rumours with final product information.

Last checked: 22 October 2026. We will update this guide as official details become available.

When is Pokémon TCG: Flowing Fists releasing in the UK?

According to the report, Flowing Fists is scheduled for 5 February 2027, with prerelease events planned for 23–31 January. That provides a useful tentative window for UK collectors, but there is not yet an official UK launch or prerelease confirmation from The Pokémon Company.

That distinction affects more than the calendar. Store allocations, UK product variants, pricing and preorder availability have not been established by the reporting. A date circulating online is not the same thing as an allocation or a confirmed retail listing.

If you are planning your Pokémon budget, keep February in mind as a possible launch rather than a date on which to expect a guaranteed delivery.

What has Pokémon officially confirmed?

The strongest confirmed news is Mega Lucario Z ex itself. During the 2026 Pokémon World Championships announcements, The Pokémon Company revealed Mega Lucario Z ex as a new Pokémon TCG card and part of the debut of Z Mega Evolution Pokémon in the card game.

The official announcement also previewed further Mega attack rare artwork. Crucially, the reveal did not officially announce an English set called Flowing Fists or its release date. Pokémon noted that preview cards were still in development and might change before release.

You can see the original information in The Pokémon Company's official press announcement and official reveal video.

Why Mega Lucario Z ex matters

Lucario has long been a favourite for players and collectors, and a Z Mega Evolution version gives it another distinctive TCG appearance. The preview showed a 330 HP Mega Lucario Z ex with an Aura Seeker Ability that can find a Supporter card while it is in the Active Spot, alongside an attack that deals extra damage against Pokémon ex.

For players, that combination suggests a card worth testing once the final wording and format are known. For collectors, the appeal is different: new Mega Evolution artwork, potential illustration variants and the opportunity to follow a Lucario-focused release from its earliest reveal.

However, no final chase-card rankings, pull rates or resale values can be verified yet. Any prices being suggested for unrevealed high-rarity cards would be speculation.

Which cards have been shown so far?

Early English card previews and reports have shown the following names:

  • Mega Lucario Z ex — the headline Z Mega Evolution Pokémon ex.
  • Sigilyph ex — another Pokémon ex shown alongside the Lucario reveal.
  • Riolu — the Pokémon that evolves into Lucario, shown in early card listings.

Images circulating with the proposed Flowing Fists code show card numbers out of 080, suggesting an 80-card main numbered set. That is not yet an officially published final set list, and the number of illustration rares or other secret rares remains unknown. We would not make a buying decision based on an assumed number of chase cards.

How does the reported Japanese set, Aura Seeker, fit in?

PokéBeach connects Flowing Fists with a Japanese expansion reportedly named Aura Seeker, expected on 27 November 2026. If the reporting proves accurate, the Japanese release may give UK collectors an earlier view of the artwork and overall card pool.

Even when English sets are heavily based on Japanese releases, card numbering, product configurations and rarity distribution can differ. Until official card lists are available, it is more useful to treat Aura Seeker as a possible preview than assume that every Japanese card will appear in precisely the same form in the English release.

What Flowing Fists products should collectors expect?

No official Flowing Fists product lineup has been confirmed as of this update. Based on familiar English Pokémon expansion formats, collectors will naturally be watching for booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, Booster Bundles and prerelease Build & Battle products. Those are examples of formats to watch, not announced Flowing Fists SKUs.

When the product range is revealed, it is worth deciding what you actually want from the expansion:

  • Opening more packs: compare total booster-pack counts and cost per pack, rather than judging the box artwork alone.
  • Keeping a display piece sealed: prioritise the particular product format and factory-sealed condition you want for your collection.
  • Collecting a specific Lucario card: waiting for the full card gallery and the singles market may be more sensible than purchasing sealed products solely to chase one card.
  • Playing at release: wait for confirmed prerelease products, event dates and the final card text.

For a more detailed comparison of the usual sealed formats, read our Pokémon Booster Box vs ETB vs Booster Bundle guide.

Should you preorder Flowing Fists yet?

We would wait for official products and trustworthy UK availability rather than commit funds based on an unconfirmed report. Before placing any preorder, check the actual product name, included contents, confirmed release date, payment terms and the retailer's fulfilment policy. Avoid assuming that a product image or speculative price guarantees stock.

At RareTCG, we will only list specific Flowing Fists products and availability when we have reliable information to support them. In the meantime, you can browse our current sealed Pokémon and TCG range or explore the next confirmed Mega Evolution release in our Delta Reign guide.
